Trojans Fall to Liberty, 6-2

The Parkland Trojans fell to Liberty this afternoon by a score of 6-2.  Parkland took an early 1-0 lead in the 1st inning on an RBI single by Tyler Graeff (3-3, RBI), then scored a run in the third inning when Damin Muth (2-3, 3B, R, BB) led off the inning with a triple to deep left field and later scored on a Liberty error to put the Trojans up 2-0.  The Trojans had there chances to score more runs in later innings, but they could not manage to get the key hits when they needed it.  They stranded eight runners on base.  Nick Rabasco was 2-3 at the plate with a walk, and Matt Hurd was 1-3.  Graeff pitched five innings striking out three.  Chris Rabasco pitched one inning in relief.

JV Trojans Lose to Liberty, 5-4

The JV Trojans fell short in a close game against Liberty this afternoon by a score of 5-4.  After battling to a scoreless tie after three innings of play, the Trojans took a 3-0 lead when Kevin Leaswitch came to the plate with the bases loaded and hit a triple to clear the bases.  Gabe Mosser pitched well through six innings, striking out eight Liberty batters.  Evan McAndrew pitched one inning in relief.  The Trojans were held to four hits by Liberty pitching.

Fye Leads Trojans Over Easton with 3-Hit Shutout

Senior Adam Fye earned his first victory pitching a 3-hit shutout out against visiting Easton to give the Trojans a 10-0 victory in a 5-inning, mercy-rule shortened game.  Fye was in control the whole game striking out six batters and scattering three hits.  The only offensive threat mounted by Easton came in the 2nd inning when Easton loaded the bases with one out, but Fye quickly got out of the jam by getting an infield line out and strike out to end the threat.  At the plate, the Trojans had 10 hits and jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning on back-to-back doubles by Brandon Evans (1-2, 2B, 2R, BB) and Damin Muth (1-2, 2B, R, RBI, BB).  A combination of hits, walks, and an Easton error in the 2nd inning allowed the Trojans to put seven runs on the board to increase their lead to 8-0.  The big hit in the 2nd inning came off the bat of Jacob Rosenblatt (1-2, 2B, 2R, 3RBI, BB) who doubled in two runs.  Parkland tacked on two more runs in the 4th to make it 10-0.  Other Parkland hits came off the bats of Matt Hurd (2-3, R), Nick Rabasco (2-3, R), Chris Rabasco (1-2, 2B, 2R, RBI, HBP), Tyler Graeff (1-2, RBI, BB), and Zach Merkle (1-2, R, 2RBI, BB).   Nate Case added two RBI's. image

JV's Suffer First Loss

The JV Trojans suffered their first loss of the season to Easton today by a score of 7-6.  After being down by a score of 7-2, the Trojans fought back to close the gap to 7-5 entering the 7th inning.  The Trojans scored another run in the 7th and had the tying run on third base before Easton closed out the win.  Pitchers Justin Afflerbach and Rhett Jacoby worked the mound for the Trojans.  At the plate, the Trojans were led by Hudson Rabenold (3-4, two 2B, 3 RBI), Dan Zaccaro (2-3, RBI), Zack Miiller (2-2, 2B, RBI), Connor Higgins (2-4), and Keving Leaswitch (1-2).  Jacoby was 1-2 with a triple and RBI at the plate.
