2011 Highlights

Parkland opened its 2012 season with a dominant win over Delaware Valley by a score of 10-3.   Parkland wasted no time getting their bats going when Nick Rabasco singled on the first pitch of the game and Parkland scored two quick runs in the first inning on an RBI double by Tyler Graeff (2-2, 2B, 2 RBI, 1R) and sacrifice fly by Chris Rabasco.  Parkland added runs in each of the next three innings to take a commanding 10-1 lead after 4 innings of play.  Kyle Stinner (2-4, 2B, 2-RBI, 1R) laced a 2-RBI double in the fourth.    Other RBI hits came from Damin Muth (2-3, RBI, 2R) and Brandon Evans.  Starting pitcher Matt Hurd threw 5 strong innings with four strikeouts, while Adam Fye pitched two dominant innings in relief with four strikeouts.

Dave Davis, owner of Willow Tree Grove and longtime supporter of Parkland baseball and Parkland athletics, died in a tragic accident.  Davis graduated from Parkland and was a life long fan of Parkland sports.  He sponsored and hosted numerous fundraisers, team banquets, and other events for Parkland's sports at Willow Tree Grove, including our 5th Annual Classic Rock Night fundraiser last month.  Parkland baseball mourns the loss of Davis and extends sympathies to his family and friends.
