Trojans Host Hitting Clinic

Posted by John Rabasco at Feb 25, 2012 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )

The Parkland High School baseball team recently held a Youth Hitting Clinic in the high school gymnasium for kids in grades 3-7 who want to improve their skills and get ready for their upcoming season.  Tony Galucy, head baseball coach at Parkland, along with his assistant coaches and returning varsity players, lead two 90-minute sessions of hitting drills and routines which the Parkland team uses during their season.

“The Parkland Baseball hitting clinic is a great way to get the baseball season started. The kids go through many of the same hitting drills the Parkland baseball players do every day in practice,” says Galucy.  See more photos from this event in our photo albums section.

The Parkland Baseball Booster Club hosted the 5th Annual Classic Rock Night at Willow Tree Grove on Saturday night.  A lively crowd enjoyed the Flamin' Caucasians as they played numerous classics that kept the dance floor humming.  The final song of the night, John Fogarty's "Centerfield," even got Coach Galucy onto the dance floor.   Along with good food and drink, attendees participated in both a basket auction and silent auction.  All proceeds benefit the baseball program.  The booster club thanks all of our friends and supporters who came out to enjoy this evening in support of the the baseball program.
