Parkland High School Baseball

 

Mansfield University sophomore pitcher Joe Candelmo had his best outing of the season firing  a complete game, allowing six hits over seven innings while striking out seven and walking none in the 2-1 victory over East Stroudsburg University.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mike Tenaglia was 3-4 with 3 RBI in game one leading Northampton Community College to a doubleheader sweep over Montgomery Community College, 8-7.  Tenaglia has a bases loaded double and RBI single.  In the second game, Tenaglia had 4 RBI.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Perennial powerhouse North Penn rallied for 3 runs in the 6th inning to beat Parkland, 4-3.  Parkland starting pitcher Matt Hurd hurled 4 2/3 innings allowing one run.   Parkland was in control most of the game taking a 3-0 lead on RBI extra base hits by Ryan Sutovich and Ben Breiner, and RBI single by DC Castillo.   The Parkland JV team also lost, 11-5.

The Parkland JV baseball team jumped out to an early 5-0 lead against Governor Mifflin that disappeared in the middle innings, ending with a 15-6 loss.

Parkland won its 2011 season opener 4-3 against Governor Mifflin on a walk-off, 2-RBI single by Ben Breiner.  Parkland starting pitcher Dan Shaw worked 5 strong innings with Adam Fye and Brian Zesch each throwing an inning.  Parkland batters struggled at the plate most of the game and trailed the entire game until their dramatic 3-run 7th inning.
