Hometown Heroes were honored in many ways during a Friday Night game under the lights against Central Catholic as the Trojans claimed a 2-1 victory. The Vikings jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning and it stayed that way until the bottom of the third when the Trojans took the lead for good after scoring two runs. Prior to the third the only baserunners in the first two trips to the plate were Cullan Wadsworth (1B) and Will Algard (ROE).

Trojan starter Ryan Giovenco battled all night long going 6 innings and giving up 1 run. In the bottom of the third Adam Mellinger sigled and went 1st to 3rd on a single by Austin Mueller, who then stole second and later 3rd. In between steal Adam Mellinger tied the game at 1 on a Cullan Wadsworth SacFly with Mueller then scoring on a Matt Mellinger single to take the lead for good 2-1. Giovenco and Trojans then did what you need to do in the Top 4 retiring the side in order after taking the lead.

Bot 4 saw the Trojans threaten again with a BB by Mike Jenkins and a CK Kinsley single but the score remained 2-1 after 4. Giovenco still battling worked around a single in the Top 5. In the bottom of the 5th Cullan Wadsworth doubled and got to third on a passed ball, and after Ethan Imler was HBP Will Algard walked, but the bases were left loaded and the score remained 2-1. In the top of the 6th Giovenco battled out of trouble with a little help from the middle as a Smith to Kinsley to Mellinger double play ended the inning. The Trojans threatened again after CK Kinsley walked and Ty Conrad reached on a fielders choice and Austin Mueller received an intentional walk, but the score remained 2-1 after 6. AJ Palumbo was on in the seventh for the Trojans and a 2-1 victory.

If you read the stat line after this game without seeing it or the score; and saw that the Trojans Pitching staff as a unit gave up just 5 hits in 16 innings Thursday night in Emmaus and the Defense was flawless you would assume that the Trojans behind starter Mike Jenkins (8 innings, 2 Hits, 6 K's) Harsh Bollu (7 2/3, 2 Hits, 7 K's) and AJ Palumbo, notched a win. Unfortunately, the Trojan offense left to many runners stranded on base and were unable to get the big hit when needed with baserunners in scoring position leading to a tough 1-0 loss to rival Emmaus at Emmaus Community Park.

The JV Squad keeps rolling with a 5 to 3 win over the Nazareth Blue Eagles. Koby Staivecki started for the Trojans and went four innings, with Phillip Schoch going one inning and Andrew Sorrentino two innings from the mound for the Trojans. The Trojans scored three in the second inning on a leadoff walk by Joshua Miller, Mark Leiby reaching on an error and then singles by Julian Nalesnik, Joseph Webber and Matthew Ervolina to plate three runs in the inning.
