JV Trojans Relentless in come from behind 11-8 win over Central. Puckett, Lehr and Leiby on the mound.
Trojans win 2-1 over Central catholic on Hometown Heroes Night! Giovenco battles for 6 innings
Hometown Heroes were honored in many ways during a Friday Night game under the lights against Central Catholic as the Trojans claimed a 2-1 victory. The Vikings jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning and it stayed that way until the bottom of the third when the Trojans took the lead for good after scoring two runs. Prior to the third the only baserunners in the first two trips to the plate were Cullan Wadsworth (1B) and Will Algard (ROE).
Trojan starter Ryan Giovenco battled all night long going 6 innings and giving up 1 run. In the bottom of the third Adam Mellinger sigled and went 1st to 3rd on a single by Austin Mueller, who then stole second and later 3rd. In between steal Adam Mellinger tied the game at 1 on a Cullan Wadsworth SacFly with Mueller then scoring on a Matt Mellinger single to take the lead for good 2-1. Giovenco and Trojans then did what you need to do in the Top 4 retiring the side in order after taking the lead.
Bot 4 saw the Trojans threaten again with a BB by Mike Jenkins and a CK Kinsley single but the score remained 2-1 after 4. Giovenco still battling worked around a single in the Top 5. In the bottom of the 5th Cullan Wadsworth doubled and got to third on a passed ball, and after Ethan Imler was HBP Will Algard walked, but the bases were left loaded and the score remained 2-1. In the top of the 6th Giovenco battled out of trouble with a little help from the middle as a Smith to Kinsley to Mellinger double play ended the inning. The Trojans threatened again after CK Kinsley walked and Ty Conrad reached on a fielders choice and Austin Mueller received an intentional walk, but the score remained 2-1 after 6. AJ Palumbo was on in the seventh for the Trojans and a 2-1 victory.
Trojans lose to Emmaus 1-0 in 16 inning Pitchers Duel
JV Trojans 5 Nazareth 3 Staivecki Schoch and Sorrentino from the mound for Trojans
The JV Squad keeps rolling with a 5 to 3 win over the Nazareth Blue Eagles. Koby Staivecki started for the Trojans and went four innings, with Phillip Schoch going one inning and Andrew Sorrentino two innings from the mound for the Trojans. The Trojans scored three in the second inning on a leadoff walk by Joshua Miller, Mark Leiby reaching on an error and then singles by Julian Nalesnik, Joseph Webber and Matthew Ervolina to plate three runs in the inning.
Th JV Squad also plated another run in the fourth after a Mark Leiby walk and a Harper Pucket single, with Leiby scoring on a FC by Julian Nalesnik. The final run of the day for the Trojans cam in the fifth inning when Matthew Ervolina singled, Alex Oliver walked and Sergio Rodriguez singled. The Trojans topping the Blue Eagles with a 5-3 win.
JV over Green Hornets 6-2 Rodriguez & Leiby on the bump for Trojans
The JV Trojans continued their streak with a win against the Emmaus Green Hornets. Sergio Rodriguez got the start and went five innings for the Trojans with Mark Leiby finishing the last two innings. The bulk of the Trojan offense took place in the third inning of this contest with Joseph Webber, Matthew Ervolina, Jared Kucharczuk, Alex Oliver, Austin Imler, Sergio Rodriguez, Austin Brockel, Andrew Sorrentino all reaching base in the decisive 3rd inning.
