A banquet celebrating the 2016 Parkland TROJANS Baseball Team was held Sunday, June 5th at Muhlenberg College.  The mood was light as funny quips about the season were shared and a special video showing hidden Parkland TROJANS' coaching tips was viewed by a public audience for the first time.  Highlights of the afternoon were the Keynote Speaker, SECTVs and the Voice of the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs, Mike Zambelli, the 2016 team video created by Tori and Mike Duff, and the Patti Novobilski poem, Twas the Year of Our Seniors.  All players received recognition as their photos scrolled on the movie big screens.  The Seniors spoke about what Parkland Baseball meant to them and gave thanks to those that helped them along the way.  Some offered advice to the Trojan underclassmen with the main theme being "what it takes to be a TROJAN."  Coach Weber shared some inner thoughts about each senior player.  This year's Todd R. Roche Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Kyle Friebolin.  The celebration ended as photos were taken of the 2016 Parkland Seniors, who stood wearing their TROJANS jerseys with bats in hand for the last time together.  image

TROJANS Play in Deppe All Star Classic

Posted by Kevin Roth at Jun 4, 2016 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
Three Senior Trojans played in the Deppe All Star Classic which donated all proceeds to the American Cancer Society.  Tyler Bruno, Andrew Roth, and Kyle Friebolin took the field for Eastern Pennsylvania Conference as they ran onto Limeport Stadium's field Saturday, June 4th.  They took on the All Stars from the Colonial League.  The game went 9 innings but ended in a 5-5 tie.  If you would like more information about the American Cancer Society please click on the link or click on the photo of the Trojan players.  image

Tyler Bruno, Kyle Friebolin, and Andrew Roth will play this Saturday, June 4th at noon in the Deppe All Star Classic baseball game played at Limeport’s Stadium.  Proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society.  All three senior players had stellar careers while playing for the Trojans.  Here are some of the highlights of their careers while playing for the Red and Gray.

Tyler Bruno, second baseman and four year Parkland player is certainly remembered in the 2015 EPC Title game when he had a career day against soon to be 1st round draft pick Mike Nikorak going 3-3 with a double, triple, and 2 RBI to lead the Trojans over Stroudsburg.  He is 3rd on the Trojan list for career triples with five.  The final statistics for his Varsity career are:

Games  Avg        OBP       H             RBI         R             SB           2B           3B           HR          Fielding Pct.

75           .339        .425        58           31           36           12           8              5              3              .932

Kyle Friebolin, catcher/1B and four year Parkland player had a breakout year as a senior.  His clutch bat was displayed many times during the 2016 season.  He led the team in RBI with 23 which had him break into one of the top five all time seasons for run producers in Trojan history.  His hit in the 2016 District XI Title game drove in the first two Trojan runs of the game.  The final statistics for his Varsity career are:

Games  Avg        OBP       H             RBI         R             SB           2B           Fielding Pct.

37           .253        .358        22           27           9              1              4              .993

Andrew Roth, centerfielder and four year Parkland player was known for his speed.  He is third in Trojan career stolen bases.  Roth broke into the Trojan lineup as a junior and came to be known as a nemesis of some of their biggest rivals, especially Easton.  In his career versus the Rovers he batted .571 going 8-14.  No hit and run scored were bigger than in the 2015 District XI game when he doubled and scored the winning walk off run to lead the Trojans to their third straight District Crown.  The final statistics for his Varsity career are:

Games  Avg        OBP       H             RBI         R             SB           2B           Fielding Pct.

61           .364        .450        52           17           40           16           2              .987

Please come out and cheer your Trojan All Stars to benefit the American Cancer Society.
