Tyler Duff (Parkland ’13), a sophomore right-hander for the Williams College Ephs, got his first collegiate start on the mound this past Sunday to close out the Ephs’ season with a win. The Ephs' go-to reliever all season was tapped for his first career start and did not disappoint. Duff gave up only 5 hits, one walk and one unearned run in a complete game performance. Duff saw the most mound appearances and second most innings of his pitching staff this season, and held the second lowest ERA. Opposing batters were limited to a .258 average against him this season.

The Parkland Trojans beat the Nazareth Blue Eagles today by a score of 7-2 in their final game of the regular season.  The Trojans now prepare for EPC and District playoffs after compiling a regular season record of 19-1.  At Nazareth today, the Trojans jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the 1st inning when Jeff Strisovsky (1-3, BB, R, RBI) and Justin Afflerbach (1-3, BB, 2R) started the game with back-to-back walks.  Chris Rabasco (1-3, 2B, R, RBI) then doubled to right field to put the Trojans ahead 1-0.  Evan McAndrew (1-2, BB, R, 2 RBI) then singled to score two runs and give the Trojans the 3-0 lead.

Rhett Jacoby pitched a complete game on the mound for the Trojans as he struck out 10, while allowing two runs on eight hits and one walk.   Nazareth scraped together single runs in the 5th and 7th innings for their two runs of the game.  Jacoby improves his record to 4-1 on the season.

Parkland added two runs in the 4th inning when McAndrew walked and Cullan Wadsworth (3-4, 2 R) singled to put runners on first and third with no outs.  Austin Mueller (1-2, RBI) singled to score McAndrew and then Strisovsky singled to plate Wadsworth and put the Trojans up by a score of 5-0.  Parkland added a single run in the 6th inning when Andrew Roth (1-3, RBI) hit an RBI single to score Wadsworth who had lead off the inning with another single.  In the 7th, pinch hitter Kyle Novobilski (1-1, RBI) singled to left field to score Afflerbach who had reached base earlier in the inning on a single.  Nazareth tried to put together a 7th inning rally when they had runners on first and second base with one out after already plating one run in the inning, but Jacoby quickly put an end to it with a strikeout and fly out to end the game for the 7-2 Trojan win.

The JV Trojans wrapped up their season with a convincing 15-2 win over the Nazareth Blue Eagles in a 5 inning mercy rule game.  The Parkland offense came alive in the 3rd inning, putting up 11 runs on 8 hits to jump out to a 13-1  lead.  The win avenges an earlier 5-1 loss to the Blue Eagles.  Starting pitcher Nick Iannotta picked up the win, throwing all fiving innings.  Iannotta allowed 2 runs on 5 hits and 5 walks, while recording 4 strikeouts.  The team ends the season with a 16-2 record.

Nazareth took a 1-0 lead in the top of the 1st, as Iannotta worked out a bases load jam with 2 strikeouts to end the inning.  The Trojans regained the lead in the bottom half of the inning, started by a Joey Bolick (0 for 1, 2BB, 2R) walk.  Scott Hudock (3 for 3, 3R, 3 RBI) reached safely on a bunt that resulted in an overthrow at first, scoring Bolick with Hudock ending up at 3rd.  An Ethan Imler (2 for 2, triple, BB, 2R, 2RBI) single scored Hudock for the 2-1 lead.

Parkland's big 3rd inning was started with a Hudock single followed by an Imler triple to right field, scoring Hudock.  Imler scored on a wild pitch and Matt Mellinger (1 for 2, triple, HBP, 2R, 2RBI) was hit by a pitch and moved to 2nd on a wild pitch.  Nick Stillittano (1 or 3, R, RBI) singled to score Mellinger.  Stillittano scored on a Nick Iannotta (2 for 2, double, BB, 2R, RBI) single  to center.  Colin Calpin (1 for 2, R) followed with a single and Landon Annoni (0 for 2, R) reached on error, scoring Iannotta.  Bolick walked to load the bases.  Hudock singled to left for his second hit of the inning, scoring Calpin and Annoni for a 9-1 lead.  Imler walked to once again load the bases and Bolick scored on a wild pitch.  Mellinger followed with a 2-RBI triple to the left center gap, scoring Hudock and Imler.  Nate Markowicz (1 for 3, RBI) singled to score Mellinger for the 13-1 lead.

The Trojans added two more runs in the 4th with a lead-off double by Iannotta.  Anderson Hummer (0 for 1, R) reached base on error and moved to second on an errant throw.  Iannotta and Hummer scored on an Adam Mellinger (0 for 1) fly ball pop to shallow center for a 15-1 lead.  Nazareth picked up a run in the top of the 5th before being shut down by Iannotta for the 15-2 victory.
