Parkland High School Baseball

The JV team was handed their second loss of the season in a 5-1 game against Nazareth.  The Trojans gave up 4 runs in the 2^nd inning that proved to be the difference in the game.  Starting pitcher Christian Kinsley worked 5-1/3 innings, allowing 5 runs on 6 hits and 4 walks, recording 4 strikeouts.  Nick Iannotta pitched 2/3 inning in relief, retiring the two batters he faced, one by strikeout.  The Trojan offense struggled against the Blue Eagle pitching, collecting 3 hits in the game.  Parkland’s lone run was scored in the 2^nd inning when Will Algard (1 for 3, R) reached base on error.  Following a Collin Duff walk and a passed ball, Algard scored on a Josh Lee (0 for 3, RBI) ground ball.  The Trojans threatened in several innings, but couldn’t find the key hits needed, leaving 7 runners in scoring position.  Nate Markowicz (1 for 3) singled in the 3^rd and Matt Mellinger (1 for 3, double) doubled in the 5^th, but both were stranded on base.  The loss drops the team to 8-2 on the season.
