On a day at Sammy Balliet Stadium that feature 80 + temperatures and a torrential downpour resulting in a rain delay the Trojans Offense bowed it's back and picked up the pitching staff in a 13-9 comeback effort. After spotting the ACC Vikings a 7-0 lead after 2 innings, Phil Schoch came on in relief and got not only the victory but the game under control, as the defense helped him to lock the game down so the Trojan Offense could go to work, claiming the lead in the 5th inning to defeat Allentown Central Catholic 13-9 on Thursday. The game was tied at nine with the Trojans batting in the top of the fifth when Dylan Miller doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs. The Trojan Offense was boosted on this day by Adam Mellinger who went 4-for-4 at the plate. Mellinger doubled in the third, singled in the fourth, and singled in the sixth. Phillip Schoch pitched well for the Trojans and kept ACC in check while going two and two-thirds innings, allowing two runs on three hits and striking out four. Koby Staivecki threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. Staivecki recorded the last six outs to earn the save for the Trojans, and was the beneficiary of a momentum killing CK Kinsley to Ervolina to Will Algard DPlay at one point that thwarted any comeback thoughts the ACC Vikings may have had. A.J. Palumbo got the start for the Trojans. Mellinger went 3-for-4 (1 BB, 2 runs, 2 RBI) at the plate to lead the Trojans in hits; as the offense logged 12 hits and 6 walks on the day as the Trojan Offense refused to lose to the Vikings. Other contributors on offense to the come from behind victory were: Christian Kinsley (1-4, 2 runs, 1 BB,1 RBI) Cullan Wadsworth (1-2, 1 BB, 2HBP, 1 run), Dylan Miller (2-5, 2 Runs, 2 RBI) Will Algard (1-3, 2 runs, 1 BB, 2 RBI) Jeremy Piatkiewicz (1-3, 1 run, 1BB 3 RBI), George Jenkins (1-2, 1BB), Matt Ervolina (1-4, 1 run, 1 RBI).
