The JV Trojans' offense started the second half of the season in a big way pounding out 16 hits and scoring15 runs.  It started in the first when Parkland loaded the base with no outs when Andrew Roth (2-2, 3R, 3BB) hit an  infield single, followed by a Ben Trinkle (3R, 3BB, HBP) walk and an Austin Mueller (3-5, 1R, 2B, 5 RBI) infield single. Kyle Friebolin (3-5, R, 3RBI) singled to right center to drive in two runs and put Parkland on top 2-0 in the first.
Starting pitcher Matt Mellinger (2 2/3IP, 7 R, 4ER, 6H, 1SO, 1BB, 1HB) shut down Freedom's offense in the first inning. In the second inning, Parkland put runners on first and second base when Harsha Bollu (2-3, 3R, 2RBIS, BB) reached base on a Freedom error and Roth walked.  A sacrifice bunt by Trinkle moved the runners over, and a Freedom wild pitch, allowed Harsha to score for the 3-0 Parkland lead.
Freedom responded in the second inning when they scored three runs, on a couple hits, hit batter and a Parkland error to tie the game 3-3.

In the 3rd inning, both teams batted around.  Braeden Duff (2-3, R, 2 BB) singled and with two outs Scott Hudock (1-5, R) singled.  Bollu hit a 2-RBI single to left to put Parkland up 5-3.  A single by Roth and walk to Trinkle loaded the bases for Mueller.  Mueller delivered with a bases clearing 3-RBI double to put Parkland up 8-3.  Freedom answered with four runs in the bottom of 3rd.  Relief pitcher Mike Jenkins (4 1/3, unearned un, 3 H, 6 SO) worked 4 1/3 innings striking out six.

Parkland batted around again in the 5th inning scoring seven runs.  Freedom pitching walked three batters (Bollu, Roth, and Trinkle) in a row to load the bases and set the table again for Mueller.   Mueller delivered again with a 2-RBI single.   Friebolin singled in another run and a Freedom error allowed two more Parkland runs to score. Duff and Kyle Novobilski (1-5, 2R) got things going again in the inning with back-to-back singles. An RBI ground out by EJ Brandt (1-3, RBI, BB) scored Duff, while a wild pitch allowed Novobilski to score and give Parkland the 15-7 lead.

Jenkins shut down Freedom in the bottom of the 5th inning, but Freedom would score an unearned run in the 6th inning to make it 15-8.  In the 7th, John Amato (1-1) singled to center with two outs, but Amato would be stranded on base. Jenkins retired Freedom batters in order in the bottom of the 7th, striking out the final two batters to end the game and give the Trojans the 15-8 victory.
