Hurd Tosses 1-Hit Shutout Against Nazareth, Parkland Wins 5-0
JV Continues Hot Streak, Beats Nazareth 5-1
The JV Trojans continued their winning ways earning a 5-1 victory over Nazareth. Starting pitcher Zack Miiller was strong in four innings of work, striking out six. Rhett Jacoby was also effective, pitching three innings in relief, including four strikeouts and picking off of a runner on second base. Parkland's offense was led by Brad Vasilik and Hudson Rabenold, each with two hits. With Parkland up 1-0 and Nazareth runners on 2nd and 3rd with two outs, outfielder Andrew Lessel made a spectacular diving catch in the outfield to end the Nazareth threat.

Early Inning Errors Sink Parkland, Lose 8-5 to North Penn
JV Starts Season 3-0, Beats North Penn 7-5
The Parkland Trojans JV team improved their record to 3-0 today by defeating a formidable North Penn team, 7-5. Starting pitcher Gabe Mosser worked three innings, striking out seven. Evan McAndrew and Connor Higgins pitched in relief going two innings each. Brad Vasilik , Ryan Dumbach, Alex Flynn, and Mosser sparked the offense. Mosser, Flynn, and Vasilik each doubled and went 2-4 at the plate, while Dumbach not only went 2-3 at the plate, but also made a nice diving catch in left field.

Dan Klem Named Atlantic 10 Baseball Player of the Week
La Salle's Dan Kem (Parkland 2009) was named the Atlantic 10 Conference Baseball Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday. Klem hit .381 (8-for-21) in a 3-2 week for La Salle, including a win over crosstown rival Villanova and a pair of victories at George Washington.
The Allentown, Pa. native hit safely in all five games for the Explorers last week with two doubles, a triple and three RBI. He was the difference in La Salle's 10-inning thriller against Villanova, registering three hits, including the game-winner in the bottom of the 10th as La Salle won its fourth straight outing in walk-off fashion.
Klem is batting .307 for the season with six doubles and a team-high 16 RBI.
