Senior pitcher Matt Hurd pitched a complete game, one-hit shutout against division rival Nazareth, leading Parkland to a 5-0 victory.  After allowing a 2-out single to Nazareth's Mike Garzillo (2011 Player of the Year) in the first inning, Hurd cruised through the Nazareth lineup for the rest of the game, striking out six.  Parkland's bats wasted no time getting on the board in the first inning against the 2011 Pitcher of the Year, Karl Keglovitz.  After a leadoff single by Senior Nick Rabasco (2-3, 2R, SB), Freshman Chris Rabasco (1-3, 2B) doubled to right-center to put Parkland up 1-0.  The pitching of Hurd and Keglovitz dominated the remainder of the game until the 6th inning when Parkland took advantage of Nazareth errors to score four runs.  The key hit of the inning came off the bat of Junior Tim Baranek (1-3, 2 RBI) who singled in two runs with the bases loaded and 2 outs that put the Trojans up 4-0.  A wild pitch later in the inning scored the Parkland fifth run for the 5-0 victory. imageimage
