Senior pitcher Dan Shaw pitched a complete game, scattering 5 hits and striking out 7 Whitehall batters in another outstanding outing on the mound, leading the Trojans to a 5-2 win over Whitehall at Coca-Cola Park.  Parkland's defense was also in top form turning two double plays, getting key defensive plays from third baseman Matt Hurd, and first baseman Kyle Stinner made three nice picks on throws in the dirt to get important outs.  Parkland batters were slow to start, but got going in the third inning scoring 3 runs to take a 3-0 lead.  Ben Breiner had an RBI double and Stinner had an RBI single.  Breiner added another RBI later in the game.  Other hits came from Nick Rabasco (2 singles), Matt Hurd (single), and Ryan Sutovich (single).

Sophomore starting pitcher Tyler Cooperman earned his first varsity victory with 5 strong innings of work leading the Parkland Trojans to an 11-6 victory over visiting Hazleton.  With a rough night behind them, the Trojans wasted no time getting back on track and on the board with a first pitch homerun by leadoff hitter Derek Freibolin.  Parkland batters enjoyed a good afternoon at the plate, pounding out 15 hits, led by Kyle Stinner (3-4, 2 1B, 2B, RBI), Freibolin (3-5, 1B, 2B, HR, 3 RBI), and Nick Rabasco (3-4, 1B, 2B, 3B, RBI).  Dan Shaw added an RBI double, Ben Breiner a 2-RBI double, Jarrod Cury an RBI single.  Jake Rosenblatt, Matt Hurd, and Damin Muth each added singles to the offensive attack.  Reliever Brian Zesch worked the final two innings to close out the win.

JV's battle back and then hold on to win 9th straight:  Hazleton traveled down the turnpike to play the Trojans.  Hazleton jumped out to 4 -0 lead in the 1st inning off of  Freshman starting pitcher Gabe Mosser.  Freshman Alex Flynn came on in relief in the second inning and held Hazleton scoreless through the 5th.  Meanwhile, a triple by Nate Case and and RBI by Aidan Flynn got the Trojans on the board in the 3rd inning.  In the 5th inning, pitching trouble by Hazleton, an RBI single by Tyle Duff and a 2-RBI single by Jordan Jones helped put Parkland ahead 5-4.  A double steal and some errors by Hazleton helped increase Parkland's lead to 8-5.  Freshman relief pitcher Nate Kern battled a tough hitting lineup and K'd the last batter of the game to secure the exciting 8-7 win.

Allen Ends Parkland Win Streak with 8-5 Loss

On a night when the Parkland Trojans celebrated Youth Night and welcomed local youth baseball players to join them for a night at the ballpark, the Allen Canaries played well, took advantage of Parkland miscues, and ended Parkland's 9-game winning streak with a 8-5 extra innings win.  The game was close the entire night with Parkland taking a 3-0 early lead and then regaining the lead 5-3 after Allen came back to tie it.  John Kucharczuk had an RBI single to lead Parkland to the early lead.  Other hits came from Dan Shaw (1B, 2B), Ben Breiner (1B),  Tyler Graeff (1B), Derek Freibolin (2B), and Nick Rabasco (1B).  Ryan Sutovich had a 2-RBI double that broke the 3-3 tie to give Parkland the 5-3 lead.  Starting pitcher Matt Nelson worked 5 innings, Adam Fye 2 innings, and Matt Hurd 1 inning.  Adam Fye came on in a bases loaded, no outs, jam in the 6th inning and was able to get out of the inning with letting only one run score  Fye ended the inning with 2 strike outs to keep the 5-4 lead.  After Allen tied the game in the 7th inning, the Trojans allowed 3 runs in the top half of the 8th and lost 8-5.

 

Parkland JV Team Wins Again, 11-4 Over Allen:  The Parkland JV's traveled to West Allentown to take on a pumped up Allen Canaries team.  Parkland took an early lead on rbi hits by Mark Reinart and Nate Kern, but Allen tied up the game at 4-4 before Parkland added two more runs in the 4th.  Starting pitcher Nate Case pitched a nice game into the 4th inning when Chad Cury came on in relief and shut down the Canaries the rest of the way.  Parkland added 5 runs in the 7th to put the game away.

Parkland Downs Pleasant Valley, 6-4

After a night game the previous day, the Trojans traveled to Pleasant Valley for a morning game today.  Parkland found themselves quickly down 4-0 in the 2nd inning, but Parkland batters chipped away at the lead and tied the game with RBI hits by Kyle Stinner and Jake Rosenblatt, and a 2-RBI ground rule double by Nick Rabasco.  Stinner (2 hits), Tyler Graeff (2 hits), and Damin Muth (2 hits, RBI) had multi-hits, while Ryan Sutovich (1 hit), DC Castillo (3B), and Derek Freibolin (2B) also contributed to Parkland's offense.  Starting pitcher Tyler Graeff combined with reliever Tyler Cooperman for the 6-4 win, shutting out Pleasant Valley batters for the last 5 innings of the game. 

JV hot streak reaches 7 straight wins:  Pleasant Valley traveled to Parkland for Saturday's game.  Starting pitcher Adam Schneck struck out the side in the top of the 1st and then the Trojans erupted for 8 runs in the bottom of the 1st. The Trojans hit the ball well, including a Zach Merkle double, but the highlight of the game was Hudson Rabenold's 3-run home run blast over the right field fence. Tyler Duff threw 3 innings of shutout relief as the Bears were held to 2 hits in the 12-2 win.  Jake Gottwald had a hot bat, with 3 hits on the day.
