FROM: PARKLAND BASEBALL BOOSTER CLUB BOARD IMMEDIATE ATTENTION!! Congratulations to all Varsity and Junior Varsity players and their families. We extend a special welcome to all families new to the Parkland Baseball experience. The coaches and our sons have told us how competitive the try-outs were and we are all fortunate to be a part of what we all believe will be a great 2004 Baseball season! The season opened with the first games on Saturday so we are already in full swing and need help from all families to meet the Booster club goals for 2004. In the next few days, we need a big push for sponsorship for the Mini-Golf fund-raising event and the Baseball Program Ads. Over $4,000 has been committed by sponsors thru the efforts of only 4 or 5 individuals but the budget expenses exceed that amount. To name just a few of the expenses, the Booster Club provides a meal for both Varsity and JV players for all away games, Gatorade for all games, spikes for all players, a banquet at the end of the season with gift for the Seniors and sponsors a Youth Night for all young players who are in the Parkland District. Keep in mind the deadline of 3/31/04! Here's what we need from each of you: 1) Join the Booster club if you have not already done so. Family Membership dues are only $20! 2) Solicit at least one major fund-raising sponsor (info can be found in the packet given at the Meet the Coaches and Players event) or solicit at least one program ad from a business person you know. The deadline to fax or email ad info is 3/31/04 so that we can have programs at home games beginning April 5th. 3) Complete and request an ad or fan lines to be included in the baseball program recognizing your son or group of players. Deadline 3/31/04. 4) Clothing Orders - last chance to order hoodies, t-shirts, sweatshirts or shorts with the Parkland Baseball logo. The Parkland Baseball Booster Club Meeting will hold its monthly meeting on May 5th (5/5/04) at 7:00 PM at the Parkland High School. Discussion to include the following items: Youth Night, Senior Night and the Banquet. We are looking for your input and assistance to make these and other events a success.

Meet the "Team Pizza Party" on March 24, 2004 at 7:00 PM in the Parkland High School cafeteria.

Parkland Baseball Booster Club is planning to conduct a fund raiser/picnic during the season which will be in the form of a Minature Golf Tournament to be held at Putt University on RT 309 in Center Valley on 4/25/04 from 1200 noon to 400pm. This event, as noted, will be held during the season which will hopefully enhance participation of all members and families of both the Varsity and Junior Varsity teams and should provide a great opportunity to meet and greet teammates, familiy members, other Parkland Baseball supporters and coaches as the team pushes toward the end of the regular season and league, district and state playoffs. The Booster Club will be in need of members to head up committees for this event in order for it to be a success. The committees will be discussed at the next Booster Club meeting on March 10, 2004. ----------------------------------------------------------------------
